Tighter Engineering Holdings Pty Ltd has an enviable track record of two decades
of error free “Steel Geo-grid” manufacture which includes zero accidents over the
same time frame.
Steel Geo-grid supplied to Australia for installation in fly-overs, underpasses and bridge abutments are
all fully code R57 compliant. Grid supplied to New Zealand is fully compliant with all the relevant standards
AS/NZS 4671:2001, ASNZS 3671:2011, AS/NZS 4680:2006 and the special requirements of NZTA.
Every stage of manufacture is carefully monitored to standards which exceed ISO 9001 requirements
and is fully ISO compliant.
Welding machines used to fabricate the ladders have individually computer controlled welding heads to control
pressure, amperage and dwell times to ensure every weld complies with the specification.
Every detail of the manufacturing process is carefully checked with fine attention to small details.
Production details, specification and quantity are noted on durable labels and can contain constructor details of site location.
Tighter offers expert advice on the logistical handling of grid from manufacture to site location.
Where special conditions apply to the unloading site, example Ministry of Primary Industry, Tighter arranges the site unloading approvals and
supervision, on the customer’s behalf, to ensure full legal compliance.
Tighter’s experience in the decanting of containers is invaluable in its contribution to the efficiency and speed of the operation.
Tighter is experienced in working to a wide and varying range of OH&S requirements in this activity ensuring safety of the site workers is never
compromised.
Tighter’s “Operating Procedures”, and inspection regime, far exceed the requirements of ISO 9000. Tighter provides Consolidated
Compliance Certificates (CCC’s) based on “In-house” inspections throughout the manufacturing process, plus a random sampling of
all tests conducted by independent laboratories.
Tighter works closely with the construction contractor to ensure grid is delivered to site in the order in which it is required.
Tighter also provides a security supply of ladders at their expense, which can be purchased if required.
These ladders are built to a configuration that can replace any ladder in the design system.
The security blanket is developed with each contractor during the early planning stage of the supply contract.

Projects
Bridge and road designers are able to specify the widest possible range of ladder configurations, from oblique walls, to attachments to columns
and bridge abutments, and Tighter will accommodate them all – even if there is only a few pieces of any one configuration.
